Are sneakerheads born or made?

While that debate may never be settled, we can all agree that there's something undeniably special about popping the lid on a fresh pair of kicks.  Every sneakerhead has an origin story -- that moment where a purchase became a passion. Maybe you begged your parents to buy you a new pair for the first day of school or worked side jobs to save up for your first Jordans.  Regardless, every sneaker tells a story and at DADS GOT KICKS, we believe that story is still being told.

Our team is made up of regular guys who are dads first and sneakerheads second. Our mission is to bring a unique perspective to the sneaker community and to celebrate the intersection of dad life and sneaker drops. Here's to all the future heat we'll cop together!

Our 3 Pillars

Entertain.

A sneakerhead’s journey isn’t always an easy one. It goes without saying that it it’s the same with being a dad. Entertaining our audience is a way to keep things in perspective and hopefully add replace that “L” with “Laughter”.

Inspire.

We’re a team of creatives and according to our loved ones, we’re all “(master)pieces of (art)work”. We also understand that too many times the inkwell runs a bit dry. We hope to inspire you in your creative journey through our photographs, videos, and artwork.

Connect.

Let’s celebrate our success stories and commiserate in our losses together. That love you have for kicks is something we all share, understand, and will never outgrow.

I'm fairly new to the community, sparking this addictive hobby a couple of years ago with a pair of Concords. Soon after, I found myself practically living and breathing kicks. My current favorite are the Bred Toe 1s with Bred 11s a close second. Even in the short period of time, I've really learned to appreciate the design choices and deep history of kicks. Looking forward to adding to the collection and sharing with this community.

To me sneakers are more than footwear. At times they are art displaying colors and materials sculpted into wearable masterpieces. At times they are monuments paying homage to champions. At times they are punctuation completing the perfect statement of my self expression. I collect sneakers like a curator chooses pieces -- just right to tell the story only they can envision when walking into a blank gallery.

My passion for sneakers ignited at an early age when I pressured my Mom into purchasing a pair of Jordan 1's as a five-year-old kid. As I got older, the collision of professional sports and sneaker culture only deepened that love as I began tracking all of the heat that started on the court or field and spilled over into everyday life. Choosing a favorite Jordan silhouette is like asking me to name my favorite child. The Jordan 11s have always felt like family to me, and both the Bred and Concord colorways are equally classic. While I've assembled and dismantled collections over time, the thrill of the chase and the satisfaction of landing a fresh pair will never get old.

Being a part of the sneaker community is something I’ve always shown a passion for. I’m an aspiring Sneakerhead/Music Producer who started showing interest in kicks since the 7th grade. The best time of my life, sneaker wise, was when I was about 13 and my brother and I had the same shoe size, which meant I had double the sneakers! At the time, some of my favorite shoes were the Jordan 11s “Legend Blue,” which my brother purchased. We used to get into huge fights over those Jordans lol.....and the Scottie Pippen “Uptempo” (all black with the white outline around the AIR lettering)...woo! But overall, as time moved forward, retro 1’s and 11’s became my favorite of all time.

For as long as I can remember I’ve loved drawing and collecting sneakers. I’m a Freelance Artist and Sneakerhead based out of the Philadelphia area who now has the pleasure of working within sports and sneaker culture as a means to provide for my family! My favorite shoes right now are the Jordan 11 Concords, the Lebron 5, Lebron 7 AND the classic Reebok Question!

I first developed a love for sneakers when I was in elementary school. Space Jam was one of my favorite movies at the time and I wanted a pair of the Space Jam 11’s more than anything. I started to become obsessed with sneaker culture and the different colorways and designs that each shoe had to offer. Getting a new pair of signature sneakers from my favorite players just in time for basketball season was always a priority and that love and satisfaction I got from unboxing and lacing up a brand new pair of kicks has transitioned with me into adult life. It’s more than just a hobby, but something I think brings people together -- a bond that we can share with one another. I’m excited to pass on that love for sneakers to my son.
